Who Wants Arthur?
“Arthur was a very ordinary dog.”
Who Wants Arthur however, is not just an ordinary picture book. This is one of my childhood favorites that I love sharing with my children. Poor Arthur watches each day as the featured pets all find homes. At night, he he practices being the pet that he thinks people will like the best. First a rabbit, then a snake and even a fish!
The text is delightfully written with repeating sentences so your children can read along with you on the parts they know. The pictures will make even your tween laugh and giggle. Arthur’s antics are presented in messy motion.
And of course in the end, Arthur finds the perfect home being the perfect pet for just the perfect person.
Children and adults for that matter will identify with Arthur trying to please others to be accepted. I actually love the message that being ordinary does not mean unloved. One does not need to be extraordinary to belong and be loved.
