HSP 17: Shawna Wingert: Different by Design

Shawna Wingert is a homeschool mom to two boys who each have a unique mix of abilities and challenges when it comes to learning. In this episode of the podcast, she shares about how she arrived at the decision to teach her boys at home and tells us a few lessons she herself has learned along the way. I couldn’t help but be inspired as I listened to her, and I think you will be too.

While I have been enjoying all of your podcasts, this interview with Shawna Wingert really touched me. Her voice and thoughts truly reminded me to cherish the gifts that my girls were made to be. I too often get frustrated with what my girls are “not doing”, and I didn’t hear that frustration in Shawna’s voice at all. Rather, she exuded a true and compassionate understanding of her boys’ gifts and their needs, and spoke about them with such love. Very inspiring and grounding. Thank you.
