We went out today to enjoy the beautiful (read: low humidity) weather we have been having. Today was hotter than the last two, but it didn’t stop us from having fun. Joining us were friends Melba and kids, another homeschooling family in the area.
Our local lake is a treasure trove of birds, wildflowers, trees and insects to identify – not to mention it is well shaded. Right now we just go feed the ducks, point to things we see and name them when we can. When the kids are a little bit older it will be a fantastic place to work on nature journals, sketch, and observe wildlife.
The whole gang (minus me). Melba is keeping a close eye on the “babies” near the water. I think they made her nervous.
