It’s been raining all day here today. Would be a good day for a nap if I could get time to take one.

Around the House
Still haven’t made my list of things to do, but I know where I want to start. I need to get upstairs and sort and organize and discard and sell. I am not looking forward to the task because it is a big one. Not even wanting to think about it…

From the Kitchen
Well the Super Healthy Meal Plans were a bust. I loved all the food. The kids mostly did not eat it. So I am back to the drawing board. I am going to download all of the meals in my one month subscription for ideas and pick out the ones we will eat. Then add in meals I know they like and get a good master list going. From there I can seek out other kid-friendly, healthy options to try in my rotation to keep things fresh. I am trying a trial of Plan to Eat to see if I like the way it works. I would love to automate the grocery list as much as possible. Anyone have some healthy kids’ meals they want to share?

Homeschooling
Is going really well. We did a short schedule of circle time and the 3Rs last week. Today was our first full day. I was up about 6:45 this morning and showered and dressed first thing so we actually got started on time. Turns out we were able to finish the entire day’s work before lunch including the first layer of the paper mache earth project!! I was stoked. Hope we can do this every day. Having afternoons totally free opens up the day for us in wonderful ways.

On the Blog
I’ve almost got a few fun things ready to put out here. Just need a few more days. I did get a reading list up and have been updating it daily so you can see what we are reading. Oh, and my camera is broken!! I was really hoping it was the battery, but I ordered new batteries and the problem persists. It will come on occasionally, flicker, and then turn off again. I am going to try and take it to the camera shop this week and pray it is an easy fix. I’ve missed some great photos this week and have been incredibly frustrated! I don’t even have my back-up camera at the moment to take up the slack. But do stop back by for Making It Count Tuesday next Tuesday. That is always fun.

Fitness
Yeah, still not exercising. I wanted to add getting up early and a full day of school to the week before throwing exercise in the mix. Plan is next week. Don’t want to talk about the diet aspect. Was doing well, but pot-stickers are evil and that is all I’m saying.

Plans and Schemes
Dinner with friends tonight. Haircuts for the boys and me tomorrow. A list of errands for Thursday, maybe some swimming with friends. Oh, and Thomas starts Kindergym today at gymnastics. He is a little on the young side, but the girl behind the desk gets such a kick out of watching him do “gymnastics” in the lobby each week she is letting him try the class out. We will see how it goes. I’m keeping my finger’s crossed because if he can do it and likes it that is 45 minutes a week of alone time for me (well as alone as it can get sitting surrounded by about 50 other parents). I am not getting much of that these days, so it will be a welcome opportunity.

Reading
A non-fiction title this week — Teach Like Your Hair’s on Fire: The Methods and Madness Inside Room 56. So far, pretty good and there is much that is applicable to homeschooling, though, most homeschoolers are doing these things anyway.

Saying Yes
We did not make it to the yogurt place last week — just too busy. Will try again this week. The kids know nothing about it, so it will be a nice surprise.

A Memory

This little cutie started kindergarten this week. He loves doing just about anything with mom, so he is a joy to teach.

I’m linking up to the Catholic Woman’s Almanac. Come see who else is sharing.
