My hope is to actually get this post done on Monday. I am hoping, but I’m not putting any money on it or anything.

Around the House
Well, I did get the upstairs cleaned, sorted, and reorganized. The only things without a home are the curriculum items for sale. Also, finally made that list of what else to do. That’s something, right? I haven’t gotten one thing done on it yet, and it really shouldn’t be that hard. Some things include: cleaning that last 9×9 square of grout on the kitchen floor (really, it’s been weeks since I started this project), cleaning out the linen closet, cleaning the dust bunnies under my bed, hanging some decorative plates in the kitchen, etc. Except I have been totally exhausted at the end of every school day. Completely and totally. I am hoping I acclimate a bit as time goes on.

From the Kitchen
This is a big old fail as well. I keep meaning to get some kind of menu plan done, but have yet to accomplish it. I’m still just flying by the seat of my pants. Am thinking I might be making things too complicated. Maybe I’ll go for more of a Monday – Italian, Tuesday – Mexican, Wednesday – Pizza kind of schedule. Any ideas out there?

Homeschooling
Still going well. Now, I will tell you honestly that the attitudes around here are not to greatest, but once we work past that they do learn and remember and do a great job. But it’s not all sunshine and roses or anything. I am determined to outlast them and counter their grouchy attitudes with my less (but not by much) grouchy one. They really are learning so much, and I am seeing tons of progress. That is very heartening. I am hoping routine and consistency will help.

On the Blog
You know some times something just has to give. This past week it was the blog. I have ideas. Maybe one day I will get them up here.

Fitness
OK, since by now you are wondering what I am doing, this area has just exploded. My mom recommended this little gadget called a Fitbit to me. Being a gadget girl, I was pretty sure that all this data and the cool wireless capabilities would be right up my alley. So far I have been wearing it for six days, and I was right. I am finding this so motivating. I am climbing the stairs to use the restroom up there, doings short little walking video workouts during the day and parking way far out in the parking lot. So far I have only made 10,000 steps one day, but I am consistently hitting over 7000 and that is a good thing. I am also on Day 3 of the Jillian Michaels – 30 Day Shred program. I hate it, so it has to been doing me some good. I don’t expect I’ll finish it in thirty days, but I am aiming for 40 days instead.

Plans and Schemes
Such a busy week this week. Lots of play dates, meetings, times with friends for mom and kids, and a big Not-Back-to-School Pool Party on Friday.

Reading
Did some fluff reading this week — actually a fluff re-read. I have my eye on a couple of good things, but am waiting on some Amazon money. And I need a trip to the library too. But in the meantime I may just mindlessly reread favorite fluff. No calories.

Saying Yes
I took some of the curriculum cash made last week with us to story time this past weekend. Olivia got a sticker dolly dressing book, Thomas one with train sounds, and John decided he didn’t want a book at all, but got a new app when we returned home. It was nice to provide a guiltless treat, even if there were major negotiations involved.

A Memory

Do you remember this guy? I love the guy I have now, but I really miss this guy. He was probably about six months old here.
