You would think I might actually get a post up more than once a week, but somehow it just isn’t happening.

Around the House
Started the list! Finished the grout, cleaned under the bed. Will keep working on it. I also made a new wreath for the door in lovely FSU colors for college football season. Mom helped me, and we used some of that deco ribbon. It was pretty easy, but turned out much bigger than I expected. Ah well, at least you will be able to see it from the road. I am waiting for the hurricane to pass before I put it up. Maybe a photo next week.

Speaking of the hurricane, it should go far enough west of us that we get nothing more than some thunderstorms. So thankful for that.

From the Kitchen
Here is another area where I have some progress this week. I printed out a grid of 1.5 inch squares and then raided my pantry and freezer and came up with twenty-one different dinners I could make with what I have on hand. We will have to buy fruit, snacks, breakfasts and drinks, but no dinner items for almost a month.

Homeschooling
Things are really getting better here. The attitudes are getting somewhat better and there is so much learning going on that I can see. It excites them, and it excites me. There never seems to be enough hours in the day to get everything done that I want to, but we keep plugging along.

On the Blog
Cue crickets…

Fitness
Still working with my Fitbit. Had a few days over 10,000 steps lack week, but I really slacked off by the end of the week. I never did the 30 Day Shred again after Monday (until earlier today). Just want to reiterate how much I hate that workout. All-in-all I lost a big fat half-pound last week. How disappointing is that? Going to try to be more diligent about what is going in my mouth this week.

Plans and Schemes
So happy to have last week behind us and this one will be calmer. We have a big Labor Day swim fest planned at Mom’s this coming weekend. Should be fun.

Reading
More fluff — and I’m good with that. In fact I have no plans to start anything else any time soon, but I have been thinking hard about starting this afghan. I don’t know that I would finish it in this lifetime, but I love the way it looks.

Saying Yes
Not totally a saying yes thing, but I am working this week on not sounding exasperated anytime one of them calls my name. I have gotten into a bad habit of that.  But it’s hard when I hear “Mom” almost constantly through the day. And then if I don’t answer immediately I hear it again. And again. And again. Of course the one that usually gets the bad tone from me is the next kid who says my name after my patience is gone.

A Memory
From one year ago today. Love that hair.
