Outside my window…
Beautiful and 60 degrees. This week has been fabulous weather-wise. Cool mornings, pleasantly warm days, and delightful evenings. I know it is supposed to warm up a touch but I am praying the humidity stays away and we get more of this yumminess.

I am thankful…
for friends.

I am thinking about…

food. Michael Pollan’s books have been speaking to me. I want to make more real food, but as with anything, time is the biggest obstacle. We are looking into local sources of meat and veggies and more meatless recipes. Its a process.

Learning all the time…
Ummmm we took the week off. Between the holiday, a doctor’s appointment for me that messed up Tuesday, and the beautiful weather I just declared a little late summer break. Back to it next week.
From the kitchen…
Pound cake for a party last night. It is my mom’s recipe and is sooooo good. Today whole wheat muffins and pot pie. Mmmmmm…
I am creating…
scrapbook pages still. So far I am keeping up with it.
I am working on…
exercise still. I am on a two day roll. 15 minutes in my bedroom with Leslie Sansone. It isn’t fancy and I should be outside walking, but this really fits in my schedule and circumstances. At any given moment all three kids are in the tiny spot moving with me, but its something. That’s what I need.

I am reading…

In Defense of Food – Actually I am skimming this one. He had me convinced with Omnivore’s Dilemma. I think my next purchase will be Food Rules which is supposed to get down to the nitty gritty and I anticipate to be the best read yet. No fiction title right now, but I have a couple of options.
I am praying…
for friends who seeking a home and who are trying to sell a home. St. Joseph pray for us.
I am hearing…
Saturday morning cartoons and Thomas trying to convince Dad that he needs his shoes. (Dad really just needs sleep, but Thomas isn’t buying it.)
Around the house…

Hopefully by day’s end the patio furniture will be together and the family room furniture will be started.

One of my favorite things…

The farmer’s market on Friday. It is held at the local nursery and the kids love going. There is a huge sandbox there, a fish pond, and fountains galore. They love running about and seeing and touching things. Yesterday there were bees and butterflies at work. So fun.

A few plans for the rest of the week…
Children’s Liturgy makes a return tomorrow and yours truly is teaching. Please pray for me to help the kids experience the liturgy in a meaningful way. Back to school! It will be science week so the kids will be extremely happy. The new homeschool football team’s first (and only) home game for the year. We will be there cheering them on! Hopefully more delightful mornings in the park with beautiful weather.

Here is a picture thought I am sharing with you…
