If you are wondering what all of the fuss is over a three-letter-word, then start here.

“Can I have a braid?”

You would think this one would be easy, but then if you know me you know I am not a hair person. Well, I have hair. Enough for me and three other people in fact. And that is the problem. My hair’s constant state is either slightly poufy or really poufy. So growing up my mom kept it short — really, really short. Like a boy’s hair. They got my ears pierced at four so people would know I was a girl.

Needless to say I don’t have tons of experience with braids or fancy hair trimmings. But the braid thing is not too bad. Its close cousin, “Can I have two pony tails?” kind of sends me into a tailspin. Because then I have to get the part straight. While the three-year-old and the one-year-old plunder and dance about me. While we are often in a hurry to get out the door.

But I said yes and try to whenever I possibly can. It makes her happy. And it is hard to say no to this face.

Note hair may or may not be in a braid here, but this is how it looks after an hour regardless.

Have you said yes this week? If so, I can’t wait to hear how. Add your “Yes” story to the comments if you do not have a blog, or put your link in the comments and snag the above graphic if you want. Please post a link back to this post if you participate. I would love to see all the ways we can think of to say yes to our kids each week. Join me?
