The end of the year is a logical time for bloggers, homeschool and otherwise, to reflect on their favorite content of the year. Sarah from Amongst Lovely Things is challenging us to do just that — with a bit of a twist. She is asking for our “Most” posts of the year and I am accepting the challenge.

And it is a bit of a challenge for me. This year included a half year of deployment where blogging took a back seat to mere survival and holding my family and sanity together. It was fun, though, to look back through the stats and find the posts that you and I liked from this year.

Five “Most” Posts from Everyday Snapshots

Most Clicks and Most Comments

Ah everyone loves a homeschool room redo and this one was no exception. My Homeschool Room Re-do post got almost twice as many clicks as any other post at Everyday Snapshots this year. It also garnered the most comments, so it won in two big categories. And I’m glad you liked it, because that homeschool room is still one of my favorite things around here. Makes me smile all the time –especially on days it is clean.

Best Picture

Photographer that she is, I am sure Sarah was going for a stunning piece of photography work with this category. Sweet person that she is, I know she is going to agree with my choice here. This photo in The Year We Survived was snapped quickly with my camera phone and will never win an award for photography by any stretch of the imagination, but it is hands-down the best photo on my blog all year long. And now I’m tearing up; must move on…

Hardest to Write

Being more of a nuts and bolts kind of blogger I rarely suffer angst over content. My posts usually don’t inspire any kind of emotional turmoil in the writing process. Instead How We Started Our Own Classical Co-op was definitely the hardest to write, but only because we had to plan and implement the co-op first.

We started planning in November 2012 (and in fact are in the midst of planning next year right now) and put in long hours of research, lesson writing, cost determining, and material buying. And it was worth every single minute of work; John was despondent this morning when I told him we were on a break from co-op until after Christmas. How many other kids are upset because they don’t get to go to school over Christmas break?

My Favorite

Every once and a while I write something where I lay my heart open a bit. It is hard to be vulnerable, but I put myself out there in Fun vs. Joy. It had the potential to be controversial — after all I stated my disdain for the phrase “love of learning,” a common catchphrase among homeschoolers. It had a small audience, but I love that it was well-received and you got it. So thank you for understanding. 🙂

So now we would love to know what you think. What are your “most” posts from 2013? Head on over to Sarah’s and link them up, and I’ll see you in the comments.
