Last post today I promise.

So my friend Patti has been doing calendar pages since she first started scrapbooking, and I have always thought they were neat. Hers are actually on a calendar grid that she writes on throughout the month and then decorates up really nice with photos and such. Somehow that was always too much pressure to keep up, and I could never make it work for me. I decided that this year I was going to try it and I tweaked the idea a bit to make it work for me.

First, I bought a digital template. All the work is done – layout, photo boxes, month names, etc. All I have to do is add photos, journaling and choose papers. Since I keep a pretty extensive family calendar in Outlook I discovered that if I do the page within a couple of months all I have to do is look back at my calendar to jog my memory and the journaling comes. The hardest part is narrowing down the photos.

This has been so freeing because now I have a place to use extra photos without feeling the pressure to make a page for every little event or cute photo that comes along. I also think it will be neat to read years from now. I should have done this a long time ago.

I have already flattened these pages so can’t include the journaling here.
