I took the inspiration from Sarah about halfway through the month of June to write up some goals for the rest of the month. I worked on them diligently, but have to admit that I didn’t finish. The idea of monthly goals did keep me motivated, though, so I am going to continue the practice to see if I can make some more progress.
First, my June goals update:
- Make end of the year folders – Umm, started but did not finish. I am moving this to August.
- Finish flash cards – I did. And then I realized that I forgot to print a set. So I have one more set left to go. Shouldn’t take long.
Create a July menu plan– Yes! Done and already bearing fruit.- Finish lesson plans – Not quite.
In my defense, I was traveling nine days between the time I made the goals and the end of the month. Let’s see if I can improve a little this month.
July goals:
- Finish flash cards.
- Finish home lesson plans.
- Set up learning space.
- Write own version of mother’s rule
and put into practice.
- Finish co-op lesson plans.
- Begin big sell-off and purge of unneeded items.
- Purge kids’ toys.
- Begin rearranging upstairs space into play room.
- Make August menu plan.
Yeah, it’s quite a bit, but a number of those start with the word “begin” so do not have to be completed. And others have a really pressing deadline — which usually inspires me to push through and get things done. And many of them are already started, so I don’t think the list is quite as daunting as it looks. I hope.
