Another fun one. I had been wanting to scrapbook one of these photos for a long time. This is Olivia and Ayden, her first “best friend” who has now moved to Texas. Journaling reads:

Every girl has a first best friend and Ayden was yours.  You didn’t really have much say in the friendship since you were thrown together by two moms who liked to hang out. You guys mostly did the parallel play thing and sometimes you  two didn’t want to share. Despite all that, though, you really liked each other. You talked about Ayden when she wasn’t around, always was happy to see her, and always gave hugs goodbye. And even now, seven months after she left, you still ask about her and talk about how she moved to “Wexas” and is “far, far away”. It’s sad when a friend leaves, no matter what age you are. — June 2008

Digital elements: All paper is from the Funky Brights kit by Dana Zarling. Brushes are Graphic Pop Edgers by Katie Pertiet at Designer Digitals. All other items are traditional.

Traditional note: We were supposed to use a rub-on on top of our ribbon, but I don’t keep those around. I typically do all of my flat elements digitally. So I printed the word “Friends” on a transparency and secured it with a couple of stitches.

This will go in our People We Love album behind the Friends tab.
