Outside my window…It’s warmed up again *sigh*. It isn’t horrible and the humidity is low, but it isn’t fall either. I am praying for a cold front.

I am thankful…
for my baby boy. He has such a bright smile and he flashes it all the time. His first birthday is this week. I can’t believe it has been a year! I won’t remember everything from this year and I have probably been way too busy most of the time, but I am happy to say that I have cherished every moment I got to hold, rock, nurse, and love my baby. He doesn’t want me to rock him much anymore, but I am going to keep trying for as long as I can.

I am thinking about…

Advent and Christmas. This year I am planning ahead.

Learning all the time…
We studied fall this past week, and I blogged about it in our Learning Notes. Next week we continue a seasonal theme with How to Make an Apple Pie and See the World. You better believe we are making apple pie!
From the kitchen…
Today we made Bean Burritos and we had a fiesta for dinner. Tomorrow chicken pot pie is up.

I am creating…
an idea box and countdown calendar for my Saving Your Sanity – Holidays class over at Big Picture. I also signed up for Cut the Crazy out of Christmas which starts this Thursday! Can’t wait.
I am working on…
more decluttering. Have a list of things I want to finish tomorrow so I can play the rest of the week.
I am going…
to visit my brother and his family next weekend. The kids and I will be traveling up with family to celebrate a cousin’s birthday — great fun!
I am reading…
Firefly Lane — it’s ok.

I am praying…
by listening. It is hard to listen and not talk — really, really hard — but I am trying to open myself up to the Holy Spirit and see what God has to say to me. Still working on this one.

I am hearing…
the hum of the refrigerator. I am the only one up, and I really should be in bed.

Around the house…clean. I finished my deep clean week today. Tomorrow back to the declutter.

One of my favorite things…freezing things for later. Just had a piece of banana chocolate chip bread we made a couple of weeks ago and froze. Got a couple of dinners already made and tucked away. Need to do more of this.
A few plans for the rest of the week…
Thomas’s birthday on Wednesday. The party for family won’t be until later this month, but we will likely have cupcakes on the big day. Staying home the rest of the week — so much I want to get done here. A trip next weekend.

Here is a picture thought I am sharing with you…
