So tired. Got lots done today, but last night was brutal. Praying John will sleep tonight.

Day_15Pin

For reasons related to lack of photos I skipped a few days. I will do those days for the album and either take a photo or not have one. Didn’t think a text-only page was quite fair for LOAD, though.

Journaling reads:

“Applesauce!”

“No, you can’t have applesauce. You just ate yogurt.”

“Nana-grapefruit!” she exclaimed, trying a different tactic and naming her favorite fruits in combination as is her wont.

“But you just had cheese, turkey, carrots, crackers and yogurt. I don’t think you would eat any more if I gave it to you,” I explained, hoping she would change her mind. Lately I had been providing the requested fruit only to have it sit uneaten. Then the flood started – the likes of which I had never heard before.

“Going to eat nana-grapefruit like Jesse Bear,” she said, naming one of our favorite picture book characters.

“What else did Jesse Bear eat?” I prompted, hoping to get her to discuss the story a bit. Jesse consumed a pretty big lunch with apples being one item. Could she recall any of the others?

She had her own agenda, though. “…and then watch a few minutes of Bug – only a few minutes. And then take a nap. And then play with Saxton and Miss Stacey. And then go get girls from school. And then take them to dance.”

She continued on adding items, preceding all of them with “and then”, some of the items unintelligible. I had to laugh out loud at this discourse – the sheer volume and variety of it was so amusing and surprising.

“You sure do have an awful lot to say for such a little girl.”

“Mm…hmm,” she agreed with a grin.

Amazing how far the verbal communication comes in a year at this age. She never stops talking now.
