Rainy, rainy day. Cooler weather is supposed to be on the way. I sure hope so.

Around the House
What I said last week. Still got to get the fall decor out; it’s hard when it doesn’t feel much like fall.

From the Kitchen
I made fake fried rice this week using cauliflower, and it was a big hit! We also made a Devil’s Food Cake for the Feast of the Archangels. (We had St. Michael on top stabbing it with his sword.) I have no willpower. I have to stay away from baking until I can eat those things again.

Homeschooling
Another good week last week. This week we are focusing on reading alouds and audio books. Things really are moving along pretty well.

On the Blog
Did you notice the upswing in posts? Hopefully I can keep up the momentum. I have a post in the works about PAL, our reading and writing curriculum, and another about some things that have been working for us in Mass. I am also contemplating a series in early November that will challenge my complacency. More to come.

Fitness
More weight lost on The 17 Day Diet. I am on Day 15 of cycle one, so on Thursday I will be able to start adding in some other meats and two servings of whole grains a day. Yay! Not exactly sure how much I have lost. I would estimate about seven pounds total. I can now officially button all the pants in my closet, though there are still a number of pairs I would not wear. My wardrobe options are expanding. Work in progress.

Plans and Schemes
Children’s Adoration on Wednesday night. I enjoy it as much as Olivia does. Other than that, a regular week until Saturday when we go to church for a First Reconciliation Preparation day.

Reading and Crafting
Dish cloth and the knook are on the shelf for now as I work on that gift. I was considering doing a square for my Babette blanket so I would have something to share for Yarn Along on Wednesday, but I can’t guarantee it will get done in time. Still working on and enjoying Death Comes to Pemberley and also started rereading The Core: Teaching Your Child the Foundations of Classical Education for our new Classical/CM educators reading group we started locally.

Saying Yes
Lots of cake. (Please eat it soon!) Lots of Mario. (A friend let them borrow the game for a few days.) They’re going to vote me their “best mom ever” if I keep this up.
